NEJM Study Shows Increase in Medicaid Reimbursement Improved Access to Care

New NEJM study shows that the increase in Medicaid reimbursement for primary care provider resulted in a 7.7% increase in new patient appointment availability without longer wait times. SFMS will be meeting with legislators to discuss Medi-Cal reimbursement rates and access to care issues.

California Department of Public Health (CDPH) director and state health officer Dr. Ron Chapman issued a Health Advisory and the “State Health Officer’s Report on E-Cigarettes: A Community Health Threat,” warning about the hazards of electronic cigarettes.

SFDPH Health Advisory: Be Alert for Measles Cases

California is currently experiencing a measles outbreak, with at least 59 confirmed cases. No measles cases have been reported in San Francisco residents in 2014 or so far in 2015, a Contra Costa County resident rode BART to San Francisco and worked in San Francisco on 2/4/15-2/6/15 during his/her infectious period.
