Why are you an SFMS member?

As a member of SFMS, I hope to join other active physicians in shaping a better future for our patients. We take care of individuals and families on a day to day basis, but we also need to advocate for issues at the legislative level that affect the future of our community, such as health coverage and physician reimbursement.

Which SFMS member resource is most helpful to you?

Being able to network and collaborate with other physicians in San Francisco to better serve our patients.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

Cooking and baking are my favorite ways to unwind. I also enjoy running, hiking, and rock climbing.

What is the most important thing you learned in medical school or residency?

I've learned that taking care of patients involves looking at their bigger picture- their living situation, home life, work and familial responsibilities. These factors have a dramatic influence on people's health, and more importantly, on how they prioritize and view their own health.

What are some of the biggest opportunities or challenges you see in health care within the next five year?

As we have seen in these past few years, I expect that issues around women's health will continue to be debated in the government. I hope that with increased health coverage, more women will have access to a full range of medical care and options.

What do you love most about practicing OB/GYN?

I love delivering babies and being able to share this amazing experience of life with every mother and family.

What is a special talent that you have?

I can bake some tasty birthday cakes.

What is your favorite restaurant in San Francisco?

So many great places to choose from-- Beretta in the Mission or Koo in Inner Sunset (for their Spoonful of Happiness).

If you weren't a physician, what profession would you like to try?

Kindergarten or first grade teacher -- teaching kids to read and get excited about books.
