SGR Repeal Gaining Momentum; 3/5 National Call to Action

Congress is closer than ever before to enacting legislation that would permanently repeal the Medicare sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula. San Francisco physicians are asked to contact members of Congress today to urge them to act on this vitally important legislation and repeal the SGR.

CMA Introduces Bill that Calls for Warning Labels on Sugary Drinks; Based on UCSF Medical Student's Idea

The California Medical Association introduced a bill that would place a simple warning on the front of all beverage containers with added sweeteners that have 75 or more calories per 12 ounces. The idea for the bill came from Tom Gaither, a first-year UCSF medical student.

California Assembly Bills Introduced To Reverse, Study Effects of 10% Cut to Medi-Cal Providers

Two bills were introduced on February 19, 2014 to reverse the 10% cut in Medi-Cal provider rates and extend the temporary Medi-Cal primary care rate increases called for under the Affordable Care Act.
