SFMS Champions Tobacco Regulation at August Lobby Day

On August 26, 2015, three SFMS physician members joined over a hundred health care workers, and patient advocates at a daylong rally at the Capitol in Sacramento in support of the six tobacco control bills heard during the Special Extraordinary Session on Healthcare 2015 convened by Governor Brown.

Frank Farrell, MD: SFMS July 2015 Member of the Month

Dr. Frank Farrell has been in gastroenterology private practice in San Francisco since 1994. He grew up on the island of Guam and attended college at Seattle University before attending UCSF Medical School. He then went on to complete his residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Zion Medical Center under the directorship of Ken Woeber, M.D, and completed his fellowship at CPMC under the directorship of Martin Brotman, M.D. and Emmet Keeffe, M.D. He has received all of his medical training in San Francisco.

Shoshana Ungerleider, MD: SFMS April 2015 Member of the Month

Dr. Shoshana Ungerleider currently works as a hospitalist at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with local non-profits. Shoshana serves on the Board of Directors of Room That Rock 4 Chemo, a local non-profit that renovates chemo treatment rooms using 100% volunteer support. She is also on the Young Professional's Advisory Council at Family House, a facility that serves as a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illness. Shoshana is also a member of the CPMC Board of Trustees and serves on their Community Mission Leadership Council.
