The AMA is Improving the Health of the Nation by Focusing on the Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes

The AMA is improving the health of the nation by focusing on the prevention of type 2 diabetes. Current statistics show that 1 out of 3 American adults have prediabetes and 90% of them don’t know they have it.

On October 1, 2018 the AMA launched an online resource library that houses communications/media materials to be used by medical societies.  The State Medical Association Resources and Tools (S.M.A.R.T.) Portal - offers an easily accessible, self-service and on-demand platform so medical societies can provide information on the prevention of type 2 diabetes to their membership (link below).

Log in to the SMART Portal by entering the following:  Name, Email and Organization Name (no password needed). The site can be accessed by multiple staff members within the same organization.

The templated articles enable your organization to add quotes from your leadership team and state-specific data to the articles. The portal has proven to be a successful tactic to engage physicians regarding the National Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle change program. Recent articles can be viewed here.

The AMA appreciates your help in raising awareness among physicians regarding the prevention of type 2 diabetes. Thank you very much for your support!
