Violence in the workplace is an issue that affects not only the safety and well-being of physicians and staff but also the quality of care delivered to patients. Although not a new issue, recent incidents of violence against medical professionals have underscored the need to assess and address risks experienced by physicians in San Francisco and Marin.

New SFMMS Resource: Small & Solo Practice Workgroup Report

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing pressures on the economic sustainability of small and solo physician practices. To improve our understanding of how private practice has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, in July 2021, SFMMS facilitated a discussion between a group of physician members who practice in private, small, or solo practice settings in San Francisco and Marin counties.
