Emergency Preparedness 101: CDC Advises on Zombie Apocalypse… and Other Emergencies



If you're ready for a zombie apocalypse, then you're ready for any emergency. emergency.cdc.govThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) decided to spice up its tired old advice on preparing for hurricanes and other disasters with a “Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Guide.”  A blog post by Assistant Surgeon General Ali Khan instructs readers to stock up on food and water, not to mention first aid supplies (“Although you’re a goner if a zombie bites you, you can use these supplies to treat basic cuts and lacerations that you might get during a tornado or hurricane,” the agency says).

San Francisco is exposed to a wide variety of hazards, both natural and man-made. Earthquakes, fires, severe storms, power outages, and acts of terrorism are just some of the potential emergencies we may encounter.
